Todd posted the news of his departure on LinkedIn after more than two-and-a-half decades at the Portage, Michigan-based company.
“It is with respect and gratitude that I announce my departure from Stryker after 26 years of an amazing journey with the organization,” he wrote.
According to the post, he joined Stryker — one of the largest medical device companies in the world — in 1999 as a design engineer. He held roles of increasing responsibility and international assignments across commercial and technical functions.
“I will always cherish the enduring relationships and ability to live the mission of Stryker,” Todd said.
Todd has been a key figure at Stryker as it has advanced its Mako surgical robotics platform. The company launched its fourth-generation Mako system — Mako 4 — earlier this year. Mako 4 is a single robotics platform delivering additional applications and innovation. Stryker designed Mako 4 to offer a premium experience across its Total Hip, Total Knee, Partial Knee and Spine offerings.
Stryker also has surgical robotics endeavors reaching beyond Mako. In September, the company struck a deal with Siemens Healthineers to develop a unique robotic system capable of performing a range of neurovascular procedures.

Todd’s departure marks the latest shift in the company’s Digital, Robotics and Enabling Technologies business. Robert Cohen, who previously led the group as president, transitioned to VP, Innovation and Technology, Orthopaedics, midway through this year. Stryker appointed Mike Carlin to replace him.
“I want to convey my sincere appreciation for all the employees and health care professionals with whom I have had the opportunity to collaborate with,” Todd concluded. “Each of you has contributed meaningfully to my growth, and I am grateful for the countless memories forged together. Over the years you have continuously supported, challenged, and inspired me in ways that have shaped my professional and personal journey.
