announced today that it expanded its relationship with Elekta with more collaboration on software for radiation oncology.
Together, the companies aim to accelerate innovation in software to improve workflows, increase throughput and enhance user experience. They expect to enable greater precision in radiation therapy treatment with less time at the hospital for patients.
It builds on a collaboration between GE HealthCare and Elekta first announced just over two years ago. The latest expansion adds in MIM Software, which GE HealthCare acquired just weeks ago. MIM Software provides AI-based software for radiation oncology, molecular radiotherapy, diagnostic imaging and urology.

The GE HealthCare MIM software portfolio, combined with Elekta’s treatment planning software, can enable advanced an innovative oncology treatment planning for the delivery of radiation therapy. The companies expect to drive innovation within planning and make their solutions available globally.
According to Elekta President of Linac and Software Solutions, Maurits Wolleswinkel, the collaboration expands dose planning capabilities with MIM Software’s physician-preferred tools.
Wolleswinkel says the companies can deliver on improved automation and adaptive therapy planning with greater speed and accuracy. Additionally, Elekta’s vendor-agnostic philosophy “ensures that all radiation therapy providers stand to gain from this collaboration.”
