European approval comes about five months after FDA premarket approval (PMA) for Zenix. The latest regulatory nod comes as the company undergoes a leadership change, too, with a new CEO taking over on April 1.
Zenix “redefines efficiency, clarity, and intelligence in both EMS and hospital settings,” according to Chelmsford, Massachusetts-based Zoll, an Asahi Kasei company. It built the device on years of feedback from customers, saying it combines intuitive design with powerful functionality.
Zoll says Zenix enhances patient care and automates workflows for ease of use. It features a large, durable touchscreen and provides critical information when needed. The system offers on-the-fly customization, giving healthcare professionals the ability to make real-time adjustments. It also helps them stay in control during high-pressure situations, the company says.
Zenix features Zoll’s Real BVM Help and Real CPR Help technology. These deliver real-time clinical feedback, improving ventilation quality and helping to provide high-quality CPR. The company said Zenix’s advanced technology empowers EMS teams and hospital clinicians to make informed, confident decisions. It helps to ensure they deliver proper patient care each time.
“Whether you are a hospital clinician or an EMS professional, the Zoll Zenix monitor/defibrillator is designed to work the way you work,” said Elijah White, president of Zoll Acute Care Technology. “Zenix is our most advanced monitor/defibrillator, and yet it’s incredibly easy to use—virtually all functions of the device are accessible with three screen-touches or less. Along with the X Series, R Series and Zoll M2, Zenix extends Zoll’s leadership in professional monitors/defibrillators with unique features and intuitive design.”
