The Cestas facility now has a central role in VB Spine’s global manufacturing due to its advanced operations, according to the company
Acquiring the Cestas facility builds on the April 1, 2025 formation of VB Spine, established through private equity firm Viscogliosi Brothers’ acquisition of Stryker’s U.S. spine implant business (NYSE: SYK). Stryker’s international spine operations were expected to sell at later dates.
Manufacturing operations continued without interruption as employees transitioned from Stryker to VB Spine. Planning is underway to integrate and align with the supply chain, systems and quality.
VB Spine said the acquisition will develop its medical education and training programs throughout Europe, bringing with it Cestas’ people, infrastructure, and processes. By expanding its worldwide presence, VB Spine will strengthen its commitment to advancing spine care.
“The team in Cestas brings deep expertise and a strong track record in manufacturing excellence,” said John Viscogliosi, co-CEO of VB Spine, in a news release. “We’re thrilled to welcome them to VB Spine and excited for the role they will play in our future. Cestas will anchor our worldwide manufacturing capabilities and give us a strong platform to deliver training and best practices to surgeons.”
