The state of Minnesota today issued a notice confirming a facility closure and the layoffs of more than 100 employees by Teleflex
(NYSE: TFX)
.
Minnesota’s State Rapid Response Team (SRRT) received the attached Federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act letter from Teleflex and its Arrow business related to the closure of its facilities at 6464 Sycamore Ct N, Maple Grove, MN 55369.
The permanent closure of the Maple Grove facility will result in the layoff of approximately 101 employees.
According to the state, Teleflex intends to cease laboratory and manufacturing operations at this location on June 30, 2025. Following this cessation, permanent layoffs of individual employees begin to go into effect on July 1, 2025.
Minnesota’s SRRT says Teleflex’s WARN letter states that the company’s Gelflow operations will remain operational until approximately the fall of 2025. The company expects all operations there to cease by March 2026.
No employees affected by the layoff and closure have union representation, Minnesota officials say. Bumping rights do not exist and there are no trade implications at this time. Teleflex did not list the positions impacted by the facility closure and layoff plan in the WARN letter.
The closure and layoffs come shortly after Teleflex announced a major business shift through a separation into two publicly traded companies in February.
NewCo (the new company) consists of the soon-to-be separated businesses. “RemainCo” includes the Teleflex Vascular Access, Interventional and Surgical businesses. It expects to complete the transaction in mid-2026. RemainCo retains products like Arrow branded catheters, catheter navigation and tip positioning systems and intraosseous access systems.
Teleflex said in its announcement that RemainCo’s simplified, nimble operating model features a streamlined manufacturing footprint. That means a transition from 19 manufacturing facilities at Teleflex at year-end 2025 to seven facilities post-separation. It expects the remaining 12 to transfer to NewCo.
