Symmetry Medical sells off Clamonta aerospace subsidiary
Symmetry Medical (NYSE:SMA) said today that it sold its Clamonta Ltd. aerospace subsidiary to the HLDF Corp. for roughly $1.3 million (£0.8 million), but remains committed to the aerospace machining market.
The move prompted Symmetry to cut its guidance for 2014, sending share prices down slightly on Wall Street.
Symmetry Medical to shutter UK plant
Symmetry Medical’s (NYSE:SMA) said it plans to close a plant in Cheltenham, England, this year, meaning layoffs for 40 workers there.
The Warsaw, Ind.-based medical device company said the plant makes medical instruments.

Sirona Dental (NSDQ:SIRO) CFO Simone Blank is slated in October to hand over her title to new-comer Ulrich Michel, who formerly worked as a finance chief in the commercial auto and heating/ventilation industries.
Blank worked for Sirona for 15 years, taking on the CFO title in 2005. The company did not state a reason for her departure, but she will stay on until October 14 to help smooth the transition.
