Remote monitoring companies join forces for cardiac patients
Remote patient care company Preventice and remote cardiac monitoring devices maker eCardio Diagnostics announced this week that they would join forces and merge sales operations under a new holding company, Preventice Inc.
The new company combines Preventice’s commercially available wireless remote cardiac monitoring systems with eCardio’s national sales force and patient monitoring center.
Sirona Dental CFO steps down after 15 years | Personnel Moves
Sirona Dental (NSDQ:SIRO) CFO Simone Blank is slated in October to hand over her title to new-comer Ulrich Michel, who formerly worked as a finance chief in the commercial auto and heating/ventilation industries.
Blank worked for Sirona for 15 years, taking on the CFO title in 2005. The company did not state a reason for her departure, but she will stay on until October 14 to help smooth the transition.
Medtronic recall gets Class I status from FDA | MassDevice.com On Call
MASSDEVICE ON CALL — The FDA slapped Medtronic’s (NYSE:MDT) recall with Class I status over concerns that the medical device maker’s SynchroMed II infusion pumps may fail in certain circumstances.
Medtronic initiated a recall on the devices in November after finding higher-than-expected rates of failure when the implantable SynchroMed II pumps were used with "unapproved drugs."
