Orthofix taps ex-AMS finance chief Heggestad to be new CFO

Orthofix (NSDQ:OFIX) named the former CFO for American Medical Systems, Mark Heggestad, to be its new finance chief.

Last month Orthofix named David Ziegler, an outside consultant who’s been helping with a massive audit of the orthopedic device maker’s books, as interim CFO to replace Emily Buxton.

Buxton’s decade-long tenure at Orthofix, originally slated to end May 14, will now end "on or about" May 9 when Heggestad takes over, according to a press release.

"We are excited to welcome Mark to the Orthofix team," president & CEO Brad Mason said in prepared remarks. "There is a lot to do in the next few years to become best in class in our finance and business processes. I believe Mark will be a great partner to the executive team and me in leading these efforts and that he will keep the company focused on the key initiatives that will drive shareholder value."

Ziegler will stay on to assist with Heggestad’s transition and "continue to provide consulting services," Orthofix said.
