LUNA, the company’s novel medical device platform, provides portable electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring with automated neonatal seizure detection at the bedside.
The battery-powered, WiFi-connected system features an eight-channel EEG amplifier and 10-20 EEG placement for neonates. It has a two-button setup to begin an EEG and offers continuous impedance check capabilities. Cork, Ireland-based NeuroBell said it provides quick setup and recording for the NICU staff, supports decision-making at all times and in all settings and supports the quicker detection of neonatal seizures.
“LUNA is designed to give every NICU team, regardless of size or location, access to clinical-grade brain monitoring for their most vulnerable patients,” NeuroBell wrote on LinkedIn. “With FDA clearance anticipated in the coming months, we’re excited for the next chapter.”
Elkstone led the $5.5 million financing round, which also included participation from U.S. health system Parkview Health. NeuroBell said this investment deepens a clinical partnership and provides a direct pathway to the U.S. market. Existing investors, including Furthr VC, Atlantic Bridge, Medtech Syndicate and Enterprise Ireland also participated.
