
Surgical Automations announced today that it closed a $3.4 million oversubscribed seed funding round to support its surgical robotics platform.
Dr. Fred Moll, cofounder of Intuitive Surgical and the man widely considered the “father of surgical robotics,” co-led the round. TurboStart, the other co-leader, is a Bengaluru, India-based cross-border venture capital firm. Together, they led the funding for the stealth-mode surgical robotics company. The company aims to leverage AI and automation to “transform gastrointestinal endoscopy.”
“Surgical robotics is entering a new era where automation and intelligence are poised to transform clinical care,” said Moll. “Surgical Automations is pursuing one of the most important opportunities in endoscopy, combining bold innovation with the pragmatism needed to bring meaningful change to patient care.”
Rajput Association of North America (RANA), the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Alumni Association of North Texas, and the Maharana Association of North America joined Moll and TurboStart in the funding round.

Dallas-based Surgical Automations develops the Vāsuki robotic system. The company designed its next-generation system for upper and lower gastrointestinal (GI) diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Surgical Automations said that, while operating largely in stealth, it advanced breakthroughs in robotics, advanced sensing and AI-driven automated navigation. It hopes to automate critical steps of endoscopic procedures like colonoscopy, delivering enhanced vision and control to gastroenterologists.
The company aims to make GI screening safer, faster and easier for endoscopists by simplifying procedures and elevating precision. Surgical Automations continues to operate in stealth as it advances Vāsuki toward pre-clinical validation and first-in-human studies.
