Lowery’s appointment goes into effect on March 2, 2026. At that time, he will also join the board of directors for the provider of healthcare solutions to dental and medical professionals.
The Melville, New York–based company’s soon-to-be new CEO succeeds Stanley M. Bergman, who stepped down from the post. Bergman spent more than 35 years as CEO before announcing his intent to retire in July 2025. Henry Schein said at the end of last year that it expected to name its CEO in mid-January.
Bergman will continue to serve as chair of the board to ensure a smooth and effective transition.
Lowery joins Henry Schein with more than two decades of healthcare experience. His track record includes scaling complex businesses and driving growth and value creation. Most recently, he served as EVP and president, Laboratory Products and BioProduction at Thermo Fisher Scientific. There, he led Thermo Fisher’s distribution channel’s above-market performance. Before Thermo Fisher, Lowery held leadership roles at companies including Maytag and General Motors.
Henry Schein said Lowery’s experience in growing distribution and owned product businesses, including manufacturing, R&D, marketing and sales, closely aligns with its business model. The company expects Lowery to guide it through its next phase of growth.
