Teleflex to drop $276 million on mask maker LMA
Teleflex (NYSE:TFX) said it agreed to pony up about $276 million in cash for laryngeal mask maker LMA International.
The deal calls for the Limerick, Pa.-based medical device company to shell out S$343.5 million for Singapore-based LMA, according to a press release.
LMA posted sales of $123.9 million last year, Teleflex said.
Funding: Mazor Robotics drums up $15M
Mazor Robotics (PINK:MZRTF) wants to get on a major U.S. stock exchange, saying it’s raised $15 million in a private placement to that end.
The Caesarea, Israel-based medical device company said the 2-tranche round is divided among "a group of institutional and accredited investors" led by Oracle Investment Management.

Diabetes: Intuity Medical aims for $38M funding for Pogo all-in-1 glucose test
Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Intuity Medical is looking to raise more than $37 million in a funding round launched this month.
The diabetes management devices maker is $12 million dollars in, having raised funds through sales of equity, options and other rights among 17 unnamed investors.
Intuity Medical has been working on an all-in-1 blood glucose testing system, called Pogo, that would eliminate the need for patients to purchase separate testing supplies.

Robot assisted prostate surgery may lower rates of urinary incontinence and post-surgery impotence when compared with minimally invasive laparoscopy, according to a small Italian study.
The study only comprised 120 patients who were randomized to receive a prostatectomy with either an unnamed robot assistant or with tiny tools manipulated by hand. All surgeries were performed by a single surgeon.

BlackRock pares 6% from Boston Scientific stake
Mammoth hedge fund BlackRock Inc. cut more than 4.5 million shares from its stake in medical device company Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX), regulatory filings show.
BlackRock said it owned about 74.0 million shares as of July 31, according to the filings, down from 78.5 million as of Dec. 30, 2011.
