The world’s 10 largest orthopedic device companies grew their combined revenue by more than 5% over the past year, bringing in more than $46 billion as innovations, including orthopedic surgical robotics, drive growth.

In fact, the success of Stryker’s Mako line of robots and the resulting sales of complementary implant systems enabled it to surpass Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy Synthes as the largest orthopedic device business in the world. Stryker was able to make the leap even in the wake of selling its spinal implants business to Viscogliosi Brothers, creating the new privately-held VB Spine.
