Zimmer Biomet (NYSE: ZBH) announced that it launched two new solutions for complex foot and ankle trauma.
Through its Paragon 28 subsidiary acquired earlier this year, the company launched tools to address challenging pilon fractures and hindfoot injuries with precision and efficiency. ZB said yesterday that it rolled out the Gorilla pilon fusion plating system and Phantom TTC trauma nail. The company says it marks a significant expansion of its foot and ankle trauma portfolio.
Gorilla offers a solution for primary tibiotalar fusion in patients with pilon fractures. It provides reliable dual-column fixation for severe or malunited tibial pilon fractures. The system features anatomically contoured plates, precision-engineered instrumentation and streamlined workflows.
Zimmer Biomet says it has type II anodized plates biomechanically engineered with region-specific thickness and tapered ends. This helps reduce soft tissue disruption. It also has advanced percutaneous guides, long-shaft plate designs and comprehensive joint preparation instrumentation.
Phantom offers expanded lengths and fixation capabilities for more demanding trauma cases. It features Precision guide technology for accurate placement and an integrated internal compression mechanism. Advanced threaded peg options offer multiple targeting configurations and right- and left-specific configurations enable tailored fixation.
