Vexev raises $6M to support robotic ultrasound tech

Vexev announced today that it raised $6 million in new funding to accelerate the progress of its robotic tomographic ultrasound platform.

Existing investors Blackbird Ventures, Neotribe Ventures, Startmate and Horizon participated in the round. New investors TreeArc Investment Group, TEN13, Bioshore Ventures and Alumni Ventures all joined as well. The company plans to use funds to support regulatory activities, manufacturing scale-up and commercialization.

This round brings Vexev’s total funding to $19 million to date.

Sydney, Australia-based Vexev develops VxWave, an ultrasound platform designed to improve access to standardized vascular imaging. Funding comes on the heels of successful results in a multi-site clinical study shared last fall.

VxWave combines robotics, AI and ultrasound imaging to automate vascular ultrasound acquisition. The company is developing the platform for upper limb vascular imaging, targeting dialysis vascular access as an initial application. It integrates advanced robotics, machine learning and ultrasound signal processing. This combination creates a 3D vascular model and detailed report to deliver insights into vascular access points at the point of care.

Beyond the current target area, the company expects to bring its platform to additional vascular disease applications. It also hopes to build the clinical evidence needed to support future AI-enabled decisions.

“We believe high-quality vascular imaging should be available wherever patients receive care, not only when a specialist is available,” said John Carroll, co-founder and CEO of Vexev. “We are starting with dialysis patients because the clinical need is clear, but our vision is much broader: to build an autonomous imaging platform that helps clinicians make faster, more consistent and more informed decisions across vascular disease.”
