Here are the top stories for the company so far this year:
5. Dexcom CEO says 2025 is ‘shaping up to be a good year’ with Stelo launch, GenAI integration

After a busy 2024, Dexcom Chair and CEO Kevin Sayer told Drug Delivery Business News that the company was set for more milestones in 2025.
Sayer discussed topics such as new features, insulin pump integrations and a key partnership with health monitoring company Oura. He also outlined the importance of AI, particularly generative AI, in advancing the company’s sensor technology. With the launch of generative AI for Stelo in December 2024, Dexcom said it became the first CGM manufacturer to integrate GenAI into this technology.
“[I just like to] make everybody remember what a great position this company is in,” Sayer said. “We’ve accomplished a lot. We have much, much more to do.”
4. Dexcom launches AI-powered meal logging for CGM users

In July, Dexcom announced that it released a new AI-powered photo meal logging feature for its Stelo platform.
Stelo, the first FDA-cleared over-the-counter glucose biosensor, joined the G7 CGM in offering this new feature. Smart Food Logging encourages and enables users to log meals more consistently through the use of just a single photo.
Users take a photo of their food in the app, and AI automatically identifies the ingredients and populates the meal description. Dexcom said its G7 is the only prescription CGM in the U.S. to support this feature.
Now, Stelo adds AI food logging to its GenAI-powered weekly insights and its integration with Oura. The platform also offers a new focused view for logged events, called Glucose Impact, to better understand how daily activities affect glucose levels.
3. Dexcom expands Oura partnership with Stelo integration

Dexcom said in May that it expanded its partnership with Oura, officially launching an integration with its Stelo OTC CGM.
Stelo now gives users 24/7 glucose insights via the Oura app. Oura’s new in-app metabolic health feature, Glucose, now gives Oura members a deeper understanding of how dietary choices impact health. It provides nutrition and glucose data directly from Stelo in the context of sleep, activity, stress and more.
Dexcom and Oura plan to make the new health feature available in the Oura Ring app for all U.S. members.
This latest development builds on a partnership first struck between the companies last fall. The partnership aims to help people improve their metabolic health by integrating Dexcom glucose data with vital sign, sleep, stress, heart health and activity data from the Oura Ring.
Dexcom wins FDA nod for 15-day CGM

In April, the FDA cleared Dexcom’s G7 15-day CGM system, making G7 the longest-lasting wearable CGM, according to the company.
The company says its 15-day G7 also meets integrated CGM (iCGM) standards from the FDA, meaning it would work with compatible insulin delivery systems.
According to Dexcom, the latest offering brings several features of the existing G7 platform. That includes a waterproof sensor, connectivity to the Apple Watch, plus automated activity, simplified meal and new medication logging. Its 12-hour grace period allows a seamless transition when replacing sensors as well.
Dexcom offers an innovative, simple mobile app and the ability to share glucose numbers with caregivers and loved ones. G7 also offers enhanced, customizable alert settings for improved discretion.
Dexcom to promote COO Jake Leach to CEO, succeeding Kevin Sayer

Sayer’s 10-year stint in the corner office at Dexcom will come to an end soon, with the company announcing its planned CEO transition in July.
Jake Leach, Dexcom’s current COO, will be promoted to the CEO spot, effective Jan. 1, 2026. Leach has spent 21 years at the company, leading teams responsible for developing multiple generations of continuous glucose monitors CGMs. In 2022, Leach took over as COO at Dexcom. He previously served as chief technology officer (CTO), starting in 2018. In that role, he led the company’s research, product development, product management and engineering departments.
Then, in May of this year, the company promoted him to the expanded role of president and COO. That promotion saw him take over additional responsibilities like oversight for strategy and corporate development.
Leach’s appointment did not come as a shock to BTIG analysts Marie Thibault, Sam Eiber and Alexandra Pang as well.
