Zyga Technology said it raised $2 million in an equity-and-options round it hopes will eventually bring in $5 million.
Four unnamed investors participated in the round, according to a regulatory filing.
Zyga Tech raises $10M for spinal fusion devices
Minnesota-based Zyga Technologies closed a $10 million funding round with the help of 5 unnamed investors, according to regulatory filings.
The spinal devices maker raised the money through sales of equity and Series C-2 preferred stock, closing the round just 10 days after marking the 1st sale.
Medtronic lands EU approval for CoreValve | Regulatory Roundup
Medtronic Inc. (NYSE:MDT) won CE Mark approval in the European for its percutaneous aortic valve replacement system, CoreValve.
The device is "the only transcatheter aortic valve available in the world that can treat – without surgery – patients with larger valve openings (up to 29mm)," according to a press release.
CoreValve is the largest transcatheter valve available, but can compress into a small delivery system to be deployed in the same delivery system as smaller CoreValve sizes.
Zyga wins FDA clearance for spinal fusion device
Spinal tools company Zyga Technology Inc. received Food & Drug Administration 5100(k) clearance for its SImmetry Sacroiliac Joint Fusion System.
The device is designed for minimally invasive surgery to eliminate lower back pain by stabilizing the sacrum — vertebrae at the base of the spine which connect the spine to the pelvis.
