Glaucoma treatment: InFocus meets enrollment goal on MicroShunt clinical trial

InnFocus has reached its goal of enrolling 75 patients in a Phase I clinical study for its MicroShunt glaucoma eye-drainage implant.

The device is used to help reduce pressure within the eye in patients with glaucoma. The product is intended to be an alternative to traditional glaucoma surgery.

Clear Guide Medical nabs $1.5M NIH grant for ultrasound-guided procedures

Clear Guide Medical won $1.5 million in funding from NIH to research the use of ultrasound imaging for needle insertions.

The 2-year SBIR Phase II award from the National Institutes of Health supports a goal of making the practice a more widespread tool used in a number of clinical specialties, the company said.
