The collaboration expands the Smith+Nephew portfolio offerings for percutaneous pelvic fracture fixation procedures. It also strengthens the London-based orthopedic giant’s position in high-frequency, high-impact trauma procedures.
Si-Bone’s iFuse TORQ portfolio includes the iFuse TORQ TNT and TORQ implants for pelvic fracture fixation and fusion of the sacroiliac (SI) joint. iFuse TORQ TNT specifically addresses the anatomical and bone density needs of the sacrum and ilium. It represents the next generation of technology for this treatment area, Smith+Nephew says.
The system has FDA breakthrough device designation and eligibility for a Medicare new technology add-on payment (NTAP) for reimbursement.
Smith+Nephew expects to now have access to the broad portfolio of iFuse offerings alongside Si-Bone’s current sales channel. It said the agreement expands its ability to serve surgeons and patients in a high-need area.
“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Si-Bone,” said Scott Gunn, Smith+Nephew VP, Trauma, Extremities and Shoulder. “This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to innovation, clinical excellence, and improving patient outcomes. By combining SI-BONE’s industry leadership with Smith+Nephew’s established commercial platform, we see a meaningful opportunity to expand access to differentiated solutions, deepen surgeon engagement, and drive sustainable growth.”
