Tokyo-based Olympus said that Lane’s responsibilities include championing the company’s global inclusion strategy. That represents a key aspect of the company’s broader ESG framework under the “Healthy Organization” function area, it said.
As COI, Lane will provide executive oversight of the inclusion strategy. That includes partnering across leadership and inclusion teams to strengthen governance and accountability. Olympus also expects her to embed inclusive practices into core business and management systems and elevate its external inclusion practice.
In a news release, Olympus said its global inclusion strategy features three core commitments: equal opportunities, advocacy and awareness and family life support. It said these pillars expand access to career development, strengthen inclusion leadership and foster a culture of belonging.
The company said its inclusive talent practices, learning initiatives and employee resource engagement promote awareness, accountability and meaningful participation. It aims to create a workplace with inclusion woven into culture and business performance.
Lane came to Olympus in 2024. She currently serves as SVP and global intellectual property (IP) general counsel. Since joining the company, she has supported enterprise inclusion efforts, including engagement with ERGs and the Global Inclusion Executive Council. She will retain her current responsibilities in addition to serving as COI.
“Through this appointment, Olympus advances its commitment to inclusion across its global operations and to a culture where every employee feels respected, valued, and supported,” the company said.
Olympus continues to execute on a new corporate strategy introduced in late 2025. President and CEO Bob White explained his plans for the future of Olympus to MassDevice in October 2025.
