The China-based company designed its PFA catheter to enhance both flexibility and performance in electrophysiology (EP) procedures.
MicroPort says that PulseMagic enables both high-density mapping and PFA through one catheter, enabling multiple approaches. The catheter works with standard 8.5 Fr sheaths, too, reducing the need for sheath exchange.
Features include a 3D multi-loop ring for broader substrate coverage, increasing the PFA catheter’s efficiency. Tip electrodes can be energized pairwise or sequentially for optimized PFA delivery, enabling customizability, the company said. MicroPort enables visualization for the PFA system through full integration with the Columbus 3D EP navigation system. This enables precise, real-time guidance.

While the PFA market continues to heat up all over the world, MicroPort EP joins a number of CE-marked PFA technologies. Those include Volt (Abbott), Farapulse (Boston Scientific), Varipulse (J&J), PulseSelect (Medtronic), Globe (Kardium) and Centauri (CardioFocus).
