My name is Conor Hale, and I’m happy to introduce myself as MassDevice and Medical Design & Outsourcing’s new senior editor.
I’ve had the pleasure of covering medical technology and the life sciences for the past 15 years from my home in the Washington, D.C. area, at outlets including the Cancer Letter and FDAnews. Most recently, I spent eight years as the medtech editor at Fierce, gaining a deep knowledge of the industry. I’m excited to continue telling the stories of a truly dynamic industry that’s working every day to improve patient care.
My journalism career began in Upstate New York at St. Bonaventure University, where I also spent a brief interlude as an EMT learning to appreciate the tools used on the front lines of health. After moving down to the nation’s capital, I dove into covering biomedical research and development and tracking how science and business intersect with the federal government.
My goal is to earn your time by providing news that not only informs, but can excite you to the potential of medtech to change the course of people’s lives for the better.
