Teleflex (NYSE: TFX) announced today that it has appointed Sean Salmon to its board of directors.
Salmon previously spent more than two decades at Medtronic before stepping down in September of 2025. He most recently served as EVP and president of the medtech giant’s Cardiovascular portfolio. Before that, he led both Cardiovascular and Diabetes as president until 2022, when he shifted his focus solely to Cardiovascular.
Since leaving Medtronic, Salmon has worked as a board member, advisor and consultant in the medical technology space. In November of 2025, Salmon joined the board at Adagio Medical (Nasdaq: ADGM). The Laguna Hills, California-based company is known for developing cryoablation technology for cardiovascular diseases.
Salmon is not the only Medtronic alum to join Teleflex’s leadership this year. In June, Jason Weidman became the company’s president and CEO. Weidman previously served as SVP and president of Coronary and Renal Denervation at Medtronic, as well as holding the post of SVP and president of Aortic, Peripheral and Venous.
Salmon’s appointment at Teleflex is part of a broader governance refresh at the company, which last month sold its OEM contract manufacturing business — now called Ingenyx — to Montagu and Kohlberg for $1.5 billion. Wayne, Pennsylvania–based Teleflex specializes in medtech for vascular and interventional access, surgical, anesthesia, cardiac care, urology, emergency medicine and respiratory care.
With Salmon joining, a third of the company’s board has been refreshed in 2026. The board now has nine directors, eight of whom are independent like Salmon.
While serving on the board, Salmon will join the growth and operations committee to support Teleflex’s operational execution, to identify growth opportunities and to enhance accountability within the organization.
“We are pleased to welcome Sean to the Teleflex voard,” said Andrew Krakauer, chair of the Teleflex board of directors, in a news release. “Sean is an industry veteran and proven operator with a strong record of driving growth and profitability across large, complex medical technology businesses. His deep expertise in capital allocation, portfolio strategy and operational execution will complement the existing capabilities of the board and be particularly valuable as Teleflex advances its strategic priorities. We look forward to benefiting from his perspective as we continue to drive durable performance and value for shareholders.”
