Jung joins to lead the company’s strategy, execution and continued growth as it scales its commercial organization and brings new products to market.
Menlo Park, California-based Maverix — formed in 2023 under the Ajax Health umbrella through investments from KKR and Hologic — develops a range of products for diagnosing and treating lung cancer. It acquired Thoracent in 2025, bringing in a stent portfolio that offers supportive scaffolds for the airways and GI tract. It aims to alleviate symptoms from obstruction, providing relief for improved quality of life. Thoracent biopsy devices also support early and accurate diagnosis.
The company also develops molecular diagnostic tools to triage lung cancer and a suite of steerable endobronchial instruments designed to target difficult-to-reach and off-airway nodules.
Before Medtronic, Jung spent more than a decade in sales at Boston Scientific. She began her career in women’s health at Eli Lilly.
As part of the leadership changes at Maverix, the company named David Beylik, previously COO, as executive chair. Brian Lynch, who built Thoracent’s sales organization, becomes chief revenue officer and president of the Medical Device division.
Commentary from Maverix Medical and Ajax Health leadership
Duke Rohlen, founder and CEO of Ajax Health, said:
“Carla is a seasoned professional who delivers results by seeking to bring out the best in everyone around her. Since she joined as Chief Commercial Officer, the team has grown revenue by more than 30 percent year over year. In my view, her dedication to her team and to giving physicians the best possible solutions for their patients is unmatched.”
Jung added:
“I’m honored to lead this team. In lung cancer, earlier diagnosis is one of the most powerful ways to improve outcomes. Our ambition is to make an impact across the entire continuum of care, from detection through treatment, with the goal of helping more patients survive this disease.”
