Campbell, California-based Imperative Care purpose-built the guidewire to improve vascular access during stroke procedures. It says it engineered the Ikon 24 Pro to incorporate three core capabilities.
First, the system features the first uniform 0.024″-diameter wire throughout the length of the guidewire for robust performance and precise control from tip to tail.
Second, its progressive support profile includes a transitional shaft design, precisely matched to Imperative Care’s Zoom catheters. This aims to balance support and flexibility both above and below the arch.
Finally, Imperative Care designed Ikon 24 Pro to enhance tactile feedback for intuitive handling and real-time control.
Altogether, these capabilities provide physicians with a guidewire that enhances the entire stroke system for aspiration thrombectomy, the company says. It builds on the same approach used by the company’s 0.088″ intracranial access technology, Imperative Care said.
The company’s latest milestone follows the raising of $100 million earlier this year.
