The partnership with Ringo and his mother, breast cancer survivor Tralee Hale, aims to provide education around breast health. That includes the importance of prioritizing annual mammograms and other key health screenings.
Last month, the Philadelphia Eagles drafted Ringo, a two-time national champion out of the University of Georgia. Ringo, Hale and Hologic timed the launch of their partnership around Mother’s Day and National Women’s Health Week this week.
According to a news release, Hale spent time focused on managing her family, career and other commitments, failing to prioritize preventive care screenings. As a single mother, she received a breast cancer diagnosis days after Ringo began his freshman year in college. Now cancer-free after completing treatment, Hale — and Ringo — want to encourage women to not delay annual screenings.
Hologic, a pioneer in 3D mammography, develops the Genius 3D Mammography exam. The company wants to increase awareness around the life-saving power of annual mammograms and other routine health screenings. Partnering with Ringo and Hale provides further impact through interviews, public appearances and digital content.
“Kelee and Tralee’s story resonates with all of us because we have heard from women — time and again — who have prioritized their families and other responsibilities while putting their own health screenings on the back burner,” said Erik Anderson, Hologic division president of breast and skeletal health solutions. “We couldn’t be more grateful that they are sharing their personal story as a way to reach women about the critical importance of annual breast cancer screenings and making their health a priority.”
