Henry Schein One (Nasdaq: HSIC) announced today that it entered into a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) on generative AI (GenAI) in dentistry.
The partnership aims to integrate AWS’s GenAI technologies across the Henry Schein One Platform. That includes Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend and Dentally. Together, they hope to usher in “a new era of AI-powered dentistry,” according to a news release.
Henry Schein One said its ambitious global AI strategy sits at the center of the partnership. It said the multi-layered initiative aims to transform how dental professionals manage practices and deliver care. The company hopes to become the world’s first AI-augmented practice management system. It wants to unify tools and workflows traditionally separated by silos.
This comes as Henry Schein One advances its digital offerings, including the August launch of LinkIt, a seamless digital workflow for dental practice management. LinkIt enables dental teams using Dentrix, Henry Schein One’s leading on-premise dental practice management software (PMS), to easily connect to a range of digital imaging, planning and design systems.
Benefits of the latest deal include a real-time documentation assistant that uses AI to capture and summarize patient interactions. It also features voice-activated perio charting, enabling hands-free charting to reduce administrative burden and improve accuracy.
Henry Schein One said that, beyond immediate clinical benefits, its partnership can improve predictive business intelligence, automated claims validation and dynamic pricing tools. It hopes to give practices the insights they need to optimize operations and revenue cycles.
Working with the AWS infrastructure supports global scalability, the company says. Henry Schein One plans to expand its intelligent capabilities across the U.S., UK and EU.
