415 Capital and S3 Ventures co-led the financing round. Panakès Partners, M&L Healthcare and founding investor Santé Ventures also participated. Two global strategic investors made commitments alongside Cordis, which continues its strategic partnership with E2. With the funding, Dr. Ruben Osnabrugge, partner at 415, and Brian Smith of S3 join the E2 board.
E2 plans to use the financing to advance its next-generation clot removal technology platform for venous thromboembolism (VTE). The Menlo Park, California-based company develops the Hēlo PE thrombectomy system to remove clot with a patented, dual-action approach. This approach simultaneously combines the power of aspiration with advanced mechanical clot disruption. The dual-action mechanism occurs within a self-expanding funnel. At this point, a high-speed agitator actively engages and removes clot under physician-controlled suction.
Hēlo operates with the agility of a small-profile catheter with the capabilities of a large-bore device in a single-pass operation.
The company says the capital injection accelerates its mission to transform VTE treatment. It currently approaches complete enrollment in its ENGULF pivotal trial to evaluate Hēlo.
“This financing represents more than capital – it validates our technology platform and positions us to revolutionize PE treatment,” said E2 CEO Dan Rose. “With strong support from sophisticated healthcare investors like 415 Capital and S3 Ventures, we are well-positioned to establish the Hēlo PE System as the gold standard in mechanical thrombectomy for pulmonary embolism.”
