Distalmotion this week announced it appointed Felix Wandel as vice president and general manager of EMEA.
Wandel has over 20 years of experience in the medtech sector, having served in various leadership roles across various functions and geographies.
Most recently, Wandel was GM and VP of robotics and technology EMEA at Zimmer Biomet. There, he was responsible for that region’s entire technology portfolio and technology innovation strategy.
“With Felix’s strong medical device experience, leadership, and track record, we will accelerate our mission to empower surgeons and hospitals to offer the benefits of robotic surgery to more patients across Europe with Dexter,” the company said in a LinkedIn post.
Prior to his stent at Zimmer Biomet, Wandel was VP of the global business unit lead digital surgery, Surgical Process Institute at Johnson & Johnson. He was also the managing director at J&J and was the company’s chief financial officer for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland MD&D, according to his LinkedIn profile. He’s also held finance roles at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, J&J Consumer Health, and Cordis.
