Cook Medical India opens new facility in Chennai

November 4, 2019 By Sean Whooley

Cook Medical - updated logoCook Medical India has opened a new office facility at Kochar Jade in Guindy, Chennai, in the city’s major business district.

The modern, 20,000-square foot office is slated to host training facilities with up-to-date video conferencing equipment and presentation aids that support collaborative learning, the company said in a news release yesterday. The location is also close to land and air freight stations.

Cook Medical India added that the facility will include a state-of-the-art warehouse to help provide faster dispatch of products across the country.

The company added that the office is also eco-friendly, and the layout maximizes space and environment while making use of natural lighting to reduce the facility’s carbon footprint.

Bloomington, Ind.–based Cook Medical said India is a vital part of its business in the Asia-Pacific region and the new facility in Chennai serves as a symbol of the region’s importance to the company’s future business.

“Our new office in Chennai was designed to be a modernized, best-in-class space to serve both our customers and employees,” Cook Group & Cook Medical president Pete Yonkman said in the news release. “India is an exciting area for Cook Medical, not only have we had a continuous presence here since 1996, but we have also consistently increased our workforce over the years. This new facility will further enhance our ability to serve patients in India while cementing our commitment to local communities.”

“This new facility will allow us to support our customers better,” added Cook India GM Vijayan Govindaraman. “We believe that we should always provide solutions, rather than just sell products. The new logistics centre will ensure prompt delivery to our customers. … The open office encourages employees to collaborate for common outcomes and the exclusive warehouse assures good distribution practices for effective and efficient management of inbound and outbound logistics. Most importantly, it allows us to prioritize the health and wellbeing of our employees.”
