A U.S. federal judge this week upheld C.R. Bard’s (NYSE:BCR) win against W.L. Gore & Associates over vascular graft patents.
The court affirmed Bard’s $371 million win from a 2007 decision when an Arizona jury found that Gore willfully infringed on patents for vascular tubing.

An Oklahoma jury ordered Medtronic to pay $9.9 million in back royalties for willfully infringing on a guidance catheter patent owned by Dr. Jan Voda.
An Oklahoma jury ordered Medtronic Inc. (NYSE:MDT) to pay $9.9 million in back royalties for willfully infringing on a guidance catheter patent owned by Dr. Jan Voda.
Voda invented new guiding catheters for delivering balloon devices and stents in the early 1990s and won patents in 2000, according to court documents.
A group of California cardiologists filed a lawsuit against Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, alleging that they were harassed out of their jobs after they complained about a pattern of compromised patient safety at the hospital.
The plaintiffs are led by echocardiographer Dr. Geeta Singh and cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Kai Ihnken, with 2 additional cardiologists named alongside them in the lawsuit.
