Court stays HemCon sales injunction in latest round of patent spat with Marine Polymer
U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit granted HemCon Medical Technologies Inc. the right to continue selling its hemostatic bandages by staying an injunction against the company.
The appeals court ruling also postponed the damages payment that the Portland, Ore.-based company was ordered to pay in an ongoing patent infringement lawsuit brought by Marine Polymer Technologies Inc. in 2006 over bio-compatible polymers used in its hemostatic products.

Judge Patrick Schiltz of the U.S. District Court for Minnesota issued a consent decree finding that thee respirators made by Williston, Vt.-based Safe Life infringe the 3M patents, which cover "Method Of Making A Respirator That Has A Fluorinated Electret" and "Electret Filter Media."
Paradigm BioDevices asks Mass. court to enforce British contract ruling
Paradigm BioDevices Inc. expanded its litigation against Centinel Spine Inc. to include its investors and a related company in the U.S. District Court for Massachusetts.

Blood glucose monitoring technology isn’t as accurate as it could be, and that lack of accuracy poses a health risk to diabetics, particularly those suffering from hypoglycemia said Bill Timmons, CEO of Columbus-based GlucoMetrics Inc. The condition can bring fainting or seizures, in serious cases, and occurs when a patient’s blood glucose is too low. It can be brought on by excessive amounts of insulin.
