Aptitude LLC said it inked a deal with the Northeast Purchasing Coalition for online direct contracting for more than 100 hospitals.
Aptitude is an online marketplace aimed at streamlining the hospital purchasing process by connecting medical device suppliers with their counterparts in the hospital industry. The company is a spinout of Irving, Texas-based group purchasing organization Novation.
The NPC deal with Aptitude, which launched in April, means the marketplace represents more than 500 hospitals with a purchasing power of $8 billion, according to a press lease.
“We’ve designed an approach that supports the complex needs of healthcare contracting. Whether it’s a hospital, an IDN, or a group of healthcare organizations that come together to source supplies, the common desire is to be able to make informed decisions faster,” general manager Troy Kirchenbauer said in prepared remarks.
