Zimmer Biomet launches new suite of digital and robotic technologies

March 31, 2021 By Sean Whooley

Zimmer Biomet logoZimmer Biomet (NYSE:ZBH) announced today that it launched the ZBEdge connected intelligence suite of digital and robotic technologies.

Warsaw, Ind.–based Zimmer Biomet’s ZBEdge technologies, both currently available and soon to be launched, include the Rosa robotic surgery platform, anatomical visualization and guidance systems such as the Signature One, the iAssist knee alignment system, and optical navigation tools.

The ZBEdge portfolio also includes remote care and patient engagement management systems including MyMobility with Apple Watch, along with data services like the OrthoIntel platform and the Omni surgical suite integrated operating room.

Zimmer Biomet’s suite is intended to offer hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers access to pre-, intra- and post-operative technologies, allowing for the use of robotics and digital technologies throughout each patient’s care before aggregating, analyzing and translating data into clinical insights.

“ZBEdge connected intelligence suite is grounded in Zimmer Biomet’s innovative robotics and digital health tools and heritage in clinically-proven implant technologies. The ZBEdge connected intelligence suite enables healthcare professionals to connect the dots between procedural and patient data at every stage of the surgical journey. ZBEdge technologies are designed with the dual goals of reducing variability of care and enhancing outcomes,” Zimmer Biomet COO Ivan Tornos said in the release.  “As we continue to pioneer breakthrough technologies and grow the ZBEdge connected intelligence suite, we will be able to deliver greater value to healthcare professionals and advance our mission to alleviate pain and improve the quality of life for people around the world.”
