LinkSymphoKnee’s platform has multiple bearing surface philosophies and implant coatings to meet the clinical demands of arthroplasty. It can seamlessly integrate into workflows, including Think Surgical’s TMINI surgical robot.
“With the LinkSymphoKnee and the TMINI System, the surgical team was able to obtain the desired bone cuts that were preoperatively planned specifically for these patients. Utilizing state of the art technology enabled us to address patient specific needs with an efficient procedure,” said Dr. Mark Gittins, the surgeon who completed the procedure.
Think Surgical won FDA clearance to use its TMINI surgical robot with the LinkSymphoKnee in November 2024.

TMINI received FDA clearance in May 2023. It has a wireless, robotic handpiece that assists surgeons in total knee replacement. Following a CT-based 3D surgical plan, the TMINI robotic handpiece automatically compensates for the surgeon’s hand movement to locate bone pins along precisely defined planes. Cutting guides are then connected to the bone pins for accurate bone resection.
Part of the company’s offering includes a commitment to providing open-platform robots. It aims to support implants from multiple manufacturers, adding Link implants to its ID-HUB database. The company says this further enhances the options available to surgeons using TMINI.
“With this latest milestone, Think Surgical takes another step forward in delivering on its commitment to provide implant choices on the TMINI robotics system to enable surgeons to provide patient-specific treatment,” said Stuart Simpson, CEO of Think Surgical. “The freedom to choose an implant independent from the robotics system gives surgeons the potential to optimize patient care and we are delighted to include the LinkSymphoKnee on the list of available options.”
