Lucid Inc. is planning a $28.8 million IPO designed to repay some of the company’s debt and build up its businsess.
The Rochester, N.Y.-based developer of skin cancer detection devices expects to repay a substantial portion of its existing indebtedness, including paying down its $6.1 million debt, with the proceeds from the offering, according to a filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission.

Syneron Medical Ltd. (NSDQ:ELOS) reported a 250 percent increase in sales during 2010, as the aesthetic device maker began to see some payoff from its 2009 acquisition of Candela Corp.
Syneron, a Yokneam, Israel aesthetic device company reported $189 million in sales during the year ending on Dec. 31, 2010, compared to $54 million for the same period last year. Much of that increase is directly attributed to products the company picked up in its $65 million acquisition of Candela Corp. in Sept. 2009.

Svelte Medical Systems Inc. closed a six-month follow-up analysis for the first clinical trial of its Acrobat angioplasty system.
CEO Mark Pomeranz said the "excellent" results from the Europe and South America-based trial are a "significant milestone" for the New Providence, N.J.-based company.
The company calls the Acrobat device an "all in one" stenting system.
