MASSDEVICE ON CALL — A system that can generate holographic 3D images of the heart that surgeons can manipulate during procedures was used in a small, 8-patient trial in Israel.

Philips (NYSE:PHG) and RealView Imaging developed the live 3D holographic imaging using X-ray and ultrasound imaging. The holographs can be seen "floating in free space" by the surgeons, who can use them to guide the surgery.
