The non-profit agency charged with determining which electronic medical records offerings will be eligible for stimulus cash certified the first batch of EMR modules.
The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology gave the nod to 33 EMR offerings. Doctors and healthcare providers who can prove "meaningful use" of the technology will be able to claim a portion of the $27 billion earmarked to push EMR adoption in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
