San Diego-based ResMed designed the new mask to create a natural and comfortable sleep experience for users with sleep apnea. It features a fabric-wrapped frame and a soft, breathable, moisture-wicking design for optimal comfort in a tube-up design. The launch of the AirTouch N30i follows the March rollout of another mask, the AirFit F40. (Read more about how the company designed that mask at Medical Design & Outsourcing.)
ResMed says it developed the AirTouch N30i to make it easier for people to start and stick with CPAP therapy. It builds upon the company’s previous masks to combine softness, breathability and a high-performance seal.
The company said a multi-center study with experienced CPAP users found that 92.6% of those users preferred AirTouch N30i for long-term use. Additionally, 96.7% rated AirTouch N30i as “appealing” or “very appealing” for its look and feel.
According to ResMed, the new ComfiSoft cushion and fabric-wrapped frame incorporate a fabric seal design with fabric coated over silicone. This creates maximum comfort while maintaining a strong seal. The mask’s visually appealing, compact design combines performance, durability and comfort, according to a news release.
ResMed plans to make the AirTouch N30i available in the U.S. starting the week of Oct. 28, 2024.
“As a global leader in sleep health and CPAP therapy, millions of people trust ResMed’s devices to help them sleep better and live healthier lives,”said Justin Leong, ResMed chief product officer. “We are excited to introduce the AirTouch N30i, a mask that redefines comfort with its soft, natural feel and sleek, modern design. It sets a new standard in CPAP masks, helping more people stay committed to their therapy and achieve better sleep while offering a refined aesthetic that is as pleasing to look at as it is to wear.”
