Qure.ai announced today that it appointed Jim Mercadante, a 25-year medtech veteran, as its new chief commercial officer (CCO).

Mercadante has decades of experience in AI, medical devices and the medtech market. The company said his appointment aims to consolidate growing momentum and orchestrate further success.

“We warmly welcome Jim Mercadante and look forward to his leadership to advance our global sales strategy, strengthen partnerships with healthcare providers and channel partners, plus optimize commercial operations for growth globally,” said Prashant Warier, co-founder and CEO of Qure.ai. “He will be based in our USA office but travel extensively to advance our worldwide sales strategy, consolidate existing customer successes and optimize commercial operations.”

Mumbai-based Qure.ai develops artificial intelligence (AI)-powered technology. It designed its solutions to read and interpret medical images (such as X-rays, CT scans and ultrasounds) in less than one minute. The FDA-cleared and CE-marked AI offerings can shorten the time to diagnosis while enabling physicians to triage medical cases more effectively. This proves particularly useful in time-sensitive situations.

Mercadante’s track record includes commercial leadership, sales, business growth and strategic marketing experience. He held leadership roles at Abbott, Johnson & Johnson, GE, Terumo and, most recently, Rapid AI. Qure.ai expects his leadership to prove instrumental as the company builds upon its recent Series D funding. It wants to drive growth across the U.S. and other geographies, support ongoing AI innovations and explore complementary acquisitions.

“Qure.ai stands out for its exceptional people, cutting-edge technology, and clear vision for the future of healthcare,” Mercadante said. “I’m excited to contribute to the company’s growth as we continue to expand globally and develop AI solutions that address critical healthcare challenges.”
