- N.Y. Gov. taps Welch Allyn CEO for state development corp.
New York governor Andrew Cuomo named Welch Allyn Inc. CEO Julie Shimer as chair of the Empire State Development Corp. (ESDC). Shiner is a member of the Advanced Medical Technology Assn.’s board and chairs its international affairs subcommittee on emerging markets. "Her extensive experience in the upstate and downstate business communities will be essential to the reconstruction of New York’s economy," Gov. Cuomo said in prepared remarks. "Attracting and retaining business in New York is job number one, and Julie and the rest of the ESDC team will work tirelessly to make that happen," he said.
- Agendia taps three for leadership roles
Agendia, a world leader in molecular cancer diagnostics, announced the hiring of David Macdonald as the company’s COO, Mark Willig as Executive VP of North American Sales, and Doug Bradley as VP of Global Marketing. Macdonald has been with Agendia for the past eight months in a consulting role and will continue to be responsible for laboratory operations, research and development, product support, information technology and U.S. human resources. Willig brings with him a rich background of executive leadership experience in a variety of commercial roles and will oversee all sales activity in North America. Bradley will manage all strategic and tactical marketing activities.
- Adam Landsman appointed head of PinPointe USA’s advisory panel
PinPointe USA Inc., makers of the PinPointe FootLaser, announced that Adam Landsman DPM will head up the company’s Medical Advisory Panel. In this role Dr. Landsman will provide valuable insight as it pertains to current and future clinical applications, clinical studies as well as assist with recommendations on expanding the panel into multi-disciplinary specialties thus broadening the company’s expertise.

She also serves on the board of trustees of Smith College. Ms.Pelham brings extensive experience in the healthcare industry and a thorough understanding of the nation’s healthcare system and patient populations to ZOLL’s board. Ms.Pelham received a Bachelor of Arts degree at Smith College and a Master’s of Public Health degree from Harvard University.
- Edgepark Medical parent company taps ex-GE exec. for CEO
MedCity News reports that the parent company of Edgepark Medical Supplies and Independence Medical has hired the former CEO of GE Lighting for its top spot. HGI Global Holdings said its appointment of Michael Petras Jr. as CEO is effective as of March 21, according to a statement from the company. HGI was purchased for $850 million last year by New York City private equity firms Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and Goldman Sachs’ GS Capital Partners. The CEO role has been vacant since then.
- Altamont Capital Partners taps Casey Lynch
Altamont Capital Partners , the San Francisco Bay area-based middle market private equity firm, announced that Casey Lynch has joined the firm as a Managing Director. Mr. Lynch will focus on investments in healthcare and business services, among other areas.
