Mazor Robotics (NSDQ:MZOR) announced a deal with an unnamed group purchasing organization for its flagship Renaissance robotic surgery system.
Caesarea, Israel-based Mazor stayed mum on the GPO’s identity, saying only that it’s “1 of the largest group purchasing organizations for hospitals, as well as acute and non-acute healthcare facilities,” according to a press release.
“This is a significant achievement putting in place a framework to expand our Renaissance footprint with this hospital corporation. With 3 of its member hospitals already using the Renaissance system, it clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of our strategy to penetrate individual hospitals as well as national accounts,” Mazor CEO Ori Hadomi said in prepared remarks.
RTI Surgical (NSDQ:RTIX) also joined forces with a GPO, Yankee Alliance Members.
Alachua, Fla.-based RTI Surgical, formerly known as RTI Biologics, makes biologic, metal and synthetic implants. RTI and Andover, Mass.-based Yankee Alliance Members signed a 3-year deal for RTI’s complete line of surgical specialties implants, according to a separate release.
“We are pleased to announce this agreement with Yankee Alliance. We look forward to offering their members our complete portfolio of surgical specialties implants which are backed by our stellar safety record of more than 5 million implants sterilized with zero incidence of implant-associated infection,” RTI Surgical president & CEO Brian Hutchison said in prepared remarks.
