The deal centers around the commercialization of the Minze Diary Pod across the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) region. It expands the support services available for patients with overactive bladder (OAB), or bladder control symptoms, undergoing sacral neuromodulation (SNM) therapy with the Medtronic InsterStim system.
Medtronic’s InterStim neurostimulator sends electrical impulses to stimulate the sacral nerves in the lower back. This form of stimulation aims to improve bladder and bowel control, treating OAB symptoms. InterStim rivals the Axonics (now part of Boston Scientific) SNM technology for treating OAB.
This partnership offers the Minze Diary Pod, an automated bladder diary solution as part of the SNM care pathway. This aims to enable clinicians and patients to collect more data during diagnosis and follow-up. Belgium-based Minze believes this supports earlier, more confident decisions to initiate SNM therapy and provides valuable post-implantation insights on therapy effectiveness.
The Minze Diary Pod allows patients to seamlessly track urinary behavior at home. It eliminates the burden of paper diaries and helps improve compliance and data reliability. It delivers automated data interpretation and a secure digital platform for remote monitoring and decision support. Now, it can help augment treatment with the Medtronic SNM platform.
“We’re proud to collaborate with Medtronic to bring our technology to more patients and providers across Europe and beyond. Together, we’re transforming the way urological symptoms are assessed, treated and monitored — with digital tools that enable precision, efficiency and patient engagement,” said Thomas Moore, CEO of Minze Health.
