Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) announced today that it expanded its strategic partnership with wearable patient monitor maker Corsano Health.
Corsano specializes in advanced real-time remote patient monitoring solutions. Last year, Medtronic agreed to exclusively distribute the company’s wearable solution in Western Europe for hospital and hospital-at-home use.
Today, the companies expanded their agreement, making Medronic the exclusive distributor of the Corsano solution in the U.S. for hospital and hospital-to-home use. This adds a wrist-worn form factor to the medtech giant’s remote patient monitoring portfolio. The companies declined to disclose any additional terms of their agreement.
Corsano’s multi-parameter wearable delivers continuous monitoring of vital signs. Features include heart rate, breathing rate, SpO2, cuffless non-invasive blood pressure monitoring and ECG. It provides clinicians with seamless, real-time data to non-invasively monitor patients anytime, anywhere.
Medtronic said the expansion of their agreement helps expand its Acute Care & Monitoring unit’s portfolio of smart devices.
