MassDevice.com looked at some of the most talked-about medical device companies, based on trends in U.S. Google searches for the last 30 days.
During the last month Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) maintained its historic hold on the top of the list, with news of layoffs, regulatory wins and setbacks and some new clinical trials. Covidien (NYSE:COV) maintained the #2 spot for another month, on news of a recall, a marketing deal and its Q2 earnings report.
St. Jude Medical (NYSE:STJ) made its way back on the list with legal updates, European CE Mark wins and more, and Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) remained in 4th place, having hit a new 52-week high, releasing its own earnings report and posting some regulatory and acquiring a new suturing system.
DePuy Orthopaedics brought up the year, beating out its parent company Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) while making headlines for the ongoing lawsuits over its recalled metal-on-metal hips.
