The company’s European arm, Medicaroid GmbH, announced the regulatory milestone on LinkedIn.
“We are proud to announce that the Hinotori surgical robot system has received CE-MDR approval in Europe,” the company wrote. “This marks an important milestone for Medicaroid and reflects the work of many dedicated teams who contributed their expertise and commitment along the way. Robotic-assisted surgery keeps moving forward, and we are proud to contribute to the advancement of minimally invasive surgery.”
Medicaroid said it aims to provide a wide range of robotics, not only in the surgical field but also for a wide range of healthcare functions.
The company designed its robot to reproduce the sensitive movement of surgeons. It features a unique, compact setup of operation arms that provides wide operating space in the sterile area.
Medicaroid said that Hinotori provides human-like movement with its eight-axis operation arms that reduce arm-to-arm or arm-to-assistant interference, delivering smoother surgery. It also has a docking-free design and a high-vision 3D system for high-definition imaging to assist in accurate surgery.
Hintori currently has regulatory approval in Japan, according to the company’s website.
