The Mass. Life Sciences Center doled out $25 million worth of tax incentives to 28 life science companies in the Bay State, aimed at fostering the creation of 918 new jobs here.
The center‘s Life Sciences Tax Incentive Program calls for it to dispense the $25 million in tax breaks each year, to boost the state’s “super cluster” of medical device, pharmaceutical and biotech firms. Eighty five companies applied for the tax breaks this year.
Jobs created as a result of the incentives must last at least five years, according to the terms of the deal, or the state can “claw back” the money. This year’s beneficiaries are:
