The rotund glass front entrance has served as a backdrop for multiple hollywood films, operating as the upscale Stark headquarters in Iron Man, and a central location in Transformers, Dodgeball, and multiple other films and tv shows.
The glass-front 213,400 square-foot building was constructed in 1998 on 14 acres within the Irvine Spectrum industrial space. Masimo bought the $56 million property from Japanese health and nutrition maker Nikken in May.
The new building will serve as a combined location for the company’s corporate headquarters, research & development and will replace facilities Masimo leased throughout Irvine, according to real estate law firm Stuart Kane who advised on the purchase.
Earlier this month, Masimo shattered expectations with its 2nd-quarter sales and earnings, posting a more than 40% profit gain on solid sales growth.
