AlterG NEO utilizes the company’s differential air pressure (DAP) technology. The company said this introduces the technology at a price point that makes it more accessible to a broader range of physical rehab clinics and athletic training facilities.
Lifeward acquired AlterG and its anti-gravity technology for approximately $19 million in August. The anti-gravity systems developed by AlterG use patented, NASA-derived differential air pressure technology. They reduce the effects of gravity, allowing people to move in new ways with finely calibrated support and reduced pain.
AlterG designed its technology to enable users to recover mobility, improve wellness and enhance physical performance. Lifeward acquired the company to add its current and future product lines to an existing portfolio of neurorehabilitation products.
“The AlterG NEO is a shining example of how Lifeward has helped to accelerate the development of new solutions which leverage our core technologies and expand our markets,” Jasinski said in a news release. “Our patented DAP technology has been trusted by our customers for nearly two decades to precisely and safely unweight their patients during rehabilitation and recovery, and we are thrilled to introduce the AlterG NEO so that more clinics and patients can access the benefits of Anti-Gravity rehabilitation than ever before.”
