iRhythm inks AI-powered arrhythmia detection partnership with Lucem Health, reports strong Q2

iRhythm (Nasdaq: IRTC) announced a strategic partnership with Lucem Health to accelerate undiagnosed arrhythmia detection.

Lucem Health specializes in AI-driven early disease detection. Together, the companies aim to accelerate the early detection of undiagnosed arrhythmias in patient populations with an elevated risk for arrhythmias.

“Healthcare is entering an era where the goal is no longer just to detect disease, but to predict it,” said Quentin Blackford, president and CEO of iRhythm. “Together with Lucem Health, iRhythm is helping lead a new way forward in care, with the goal of reaching patients before symptoms surface and before complications arise. This is a bold step toward predictive, preventive, and precise care powered by AI, informed by data, and designed for scale. We believe more than 27 million people in the U.S. alone could benefit from proactive cardiac monitoring — and this is just the beginning.”

San Francisco-based iRhythm said in a news release that traditional care models often rely on reactive diagnosis. This can leave arrhythmias undetected until stroke, hospitalization or worse.

The partnership combines Lucem Health’s Reveal AI-powered early disease detection platform and iRhythm’s proven diagnostic service. They hope to identify risk earlier and enable targeted monitoring to help clinicians intervene sooner.

iRhythm’s direct investment in Lucem Health supports the partnership.

“Each day, clinicians find themselves reacting to the circumstances of the patients in their exam rooms — they often don’t have the time or the information they need to deliver truly proactive care,” said Sean Cassidy, founder and CEO of Lucem Health. “Together with iRhythm, we’re bringing predictive intelligence to healthcare’s front lines — enabling earlier action, smarter resource allocation, and better outcomes for patients.”

A look at iRhythm’s earnings results

iRhythm reported losses of $14.2 million for the quarter. That equals 44¢ per share on sales of $186.7 million for the three months ended June 30, 2025.

The company recorded a nearly $6 million bottom-line gain on a sales increase of 26.1%.

Adjusted to exclude one-time items, losses per share came in at 32¢. That landed 15¢ ahead of the forecast on Wall Street. Sales also topped expectations as experts projected $174 million in revenue.

“The second quarter of 2025 was another record quarter for iRhythm, with growth of more than 26%, showcasing the strength of our diversified growth strategy,” Blackford. “Our continued momentum spans three key areas: accelerating growth in our core monitoring business, continued penetration of Zio AT across major health systems, and successful expansion with innovative value-based care partners.

“With strong execution, combined with our transformative AI partnership with Lucem Health and the growing abundance of compelling clinical evidence, we’re uniquely positioned to revolutionize early cardiac detection and create substantial value for patients, providers, and shareholders while addressing the growing need for preventative care.”

iRhythm now expects revenues between $720 million and $730 million. It projects adjusted EBITDA margin for the full year 2025 to land between 8.0% to 8.5% of revenues.

The analysts’ reaction

BTIG analysts Marie Thibault, Sam Eiber and Alexandra Pang maintain a “Buy” rating for iRhythm. They note that demand for the cmopany’s core business, with increased Zio AT penetration, drove growth in the quarter.

The company recorded a record quarter for Zio AT sales, while Zio MCT, the next-generation mobile cardiac telemetry (MCT) platform is set for an FDA submission this quarter. The analysts say that product should help sustain and possibly accelerate market share gains once approved.

“IRTC is showcasing that it can not only maintain its dominant market position within LTCM, but also expand its share,” they wrote. “We see several avenues for sustained growth including expanding its reach into primary care, building the proactive monitoring category, and offering a more competitive MCT offering next year.”

The analysts expect iRhythm shares to move meaningfully higher today, Aug. 1, following the earnings release on July 31. Shares remain relatively unmoved at $140.18 apiece before the market opens today. (This story may be updated with stock price changes.)
